Eminem is the first person in the world to achieve 60 million Facebook fans (or ‘likes’).
Eminem has passed the 60 million fans milestone on Facebook.
With over 60 million users now connected to Eminem’s main fan page on Facebook, the American rapper now commands a nation bigger than England’s population.
So many ‘likes’ on the site confirm that the American rapper is one of the greatest social media stars of all time. This landmark sees Eminem replace the legendary Michael Jackson as the most popular star on the social networking site.
To put it in perspective Eminem at present has 15 million more subscribers than web favourite Justin Bieber on Facebook. He also outpaces Lady Gaga who has 52 million fans and movie stars like Will Smith and Vin Diesel who have 33 milllion fans each.
As well as Facebook popularity, Eminem also ranks fourth among YouTube music artists with almost two billion views on his main channel.
However Rihanna is hot on the heels of the 39 year-old. Threatening to steal the Facebook crown, the Bajan star is quickly catching up – a gap between Rihanna and Eminem that once stood at more than 5 million fans has narrowed to just over 700,000.
While boasting 60 million Facebook fans, Eminem is by no means the most popular personality on Twitter. Slim Shady lags well behind Lady Gaga – her 27 million followers dwarf Eminem’s 11 million.
