Taiwanese tech site Digitimes has reported that Apple’s next iPad might be launched in the next three to four months.
The website had reportedly obtained the information from supply line sources and found out that Apple will start to reduce iPad 2 production numbers in the first quarter of next year to make way for the next version of the tablet. Digitimes also reported that the new iPads are expected to reach up to 9.8 million production units early next year.
The Washington Post reported that the Taiwanese tech site “has a spotty record when it comes to predicting Apple’s next moves”.
But Digitimes is not alone in trying to predict when Apple might release the next version of the iPad.
According to a Business Insider report, Citi analyst Richard Gardner was informed by several sources that the iPad 3 might see the light of day in February next year.
Mr Gardner also added that the new tablet will come with a high-resolution screen, just like the displays on the iPhone 4 and 4S.
iPad 3 Rumor: New iPad Will be Transparent (video)
On the concept video created by Dakota Adney as shown below, a user uses his new transparent iPad, browses photos, watches movie and plays Angry Birds. According to the video’s description, the iPad 3 will weigh 0.6 pounds and touch operations will be more accurate and precise.
Meanwhile, Dan Evon of Inquisitr reacted on the video, saying that Adney “may be thinking of the iPad 6 or 7, but it isn’t likely that Apple’s next product will be transparent”.
Moreover, speculations on the release date of the iPad 3 are also circulating, with most of them agree that it will be in the next 3 to 4 months, reports said.
