Twitter is turning seven and while it has cause for celebration it has a long way to go if it wants to dethrone Facebook as the leading social media platform.
In a blog post marking the occasion Twitter said that it’s platform is “thriving” with well over 200 million active users posting over 400 million tweet per day.
Twitter notes that “There’s an old English saying, “Keep a thing seven years, and you’ll always find a use for it.” And yes, we’re sure that there are more than a few uses for Twitter today.
In addition to their announcement, Twitter has put together a sweet and simple video highlighting some of the biggest Twitter events over the past 7 years. Have a look at the video and see if you have any memories to those events.
Now it’s is all grown-up and is a fully-fledged celebrity schmoozer to boot, with the likes of Justin Bieber, President Obama and Lady Gaga signing up and winning over billions of fans on the micro-blogging social network.
