Pam St Clement, who played EastEnders stalwart Pat Butcher for 25 years, earned a standing ovation when she was given the lifetime achievement award.

Best Actor went to Emmerdale's Danny Miller for the second year in a row, for his portrayal of Aaron Livesy who reluctantly helped his partner, Jackson, to die.

Corrie seized the award for Best Single Episode for Becky's Final Farewell, while Katherine Kelly took the award for Best Exit.

Corrie's Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) took home the sexiest actress trophy for the fourth year running.

Picking up the award for Villain of the Year was actor Andrew Lancel - whose depiction of Carla Connor's evil fiance Frank Foster left Corrie viewers gripped.

Alison King, Coronation Street's Carla Connor, took the Best Actress award for her portrayal of the factory owner raped by her fiance.
Earlier in the evening Stephanie Davies had looked stunning, the epitome of sophisticated glamour in a floor-sweeping black gown and diamond drop earrings.
But just hours later, Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davies was snapped in possibly the worst public display of affection as she left the Soap Awards after party.
As she smooched male model Jay Camilleri, the Liverpudlian’s micro-mini dress rode up around her waist exposing her bottom not only to the elements but also the gathered throng of photographers.
