Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the pageant. Contestants from 89 countries and territories are participating in this year’s pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.
Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe organization said, “I don’t think there is any doubt in the rest of the world’s mind that Brazil is the place, between hosting the Olympics and hosting the World Cup,” she said. “I love fact we’re going to kick it off. I always say we’re the ‘World Cup’ of beauty.”
The Miss Universe 2011 celebrity Judges are:
Hélio Castroneves, Connie ChungConnie Chung, Isabeli Fontana, Vivica A. FoxVivica A. Fox, Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, Lea Salonga, Farouk Shami, Amelia Vega the Miss Universe 2003 and Italo Zanzi.
Natalie Morales and Andy Cohen will be the co-hosts.
