Whitney Houston Funeral Footage Sold To Media Outlets

Whitney Houston’s family has sold footage of her star-studded funeral to media outlets across the world to raise funds for the tragic singer’s daughter.

The soul superstar was remembered during a private four-hour ceremony at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (18Feb12).

A live feed of the service was provided to TV and media networks by the Associated Press, but all footage had to be pulled from websites by Sunday (19Feb12) – and now a Houston family representative has revealed why.

The spokesperson tells Tmz.com the executors have “agreed to license footage to several media outlets” for “customary fees”.

The charges will go to “help maximise the estate for the benefit of Bobbi Kristina“, Houston’s 18-year-old daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

Houston died on 11 February (11). A cause of death has yet to be determined.
